The Enshittifier Mac app began as a whimsical thought: could font ligatures be cleverly manipulated to visually transform the term "AI" into a "poop" emoji? The answer, surprisingly, was yes, and ironically, AI itself helped me discover how to achieve it. A subsequent Chrome extension was developed to address inconsistencies with web fonts. More than just a playful jab, this tool serves as a subtle, humorous reminder to be more mindful of the constant buzz and hype surrounding artificial intelligence, starting right there in your font files.
