Open-source voice dictation for Mac, fully on-device

Yap is a lightweight utility that converts your speech into text in any application on your Mac. You simply set a hotkey, speak your thoughts, and the text is pasted directly into your active field. It runs entirely on your device using native macOS speech APIs, meaning no data leaves your machine and no external models are required. The app is built with about 3,000 lines of native Swift, uses very little memory, and is provided for free under an MIT license by the team at Frigade.
